Panmure Island is located off the east coast of PEI. Historically, the island was only connected and accessible during low tide where you could walk to the island. Many years ago back in the 1960s, a causeway was built giving permanent access to the island and everything it holds.
Panmure is home to one of the oldest wooden lighthouses and is now designated as a provincial park and a campground; home to one of the most beautiful beaches found on PEI. The local First Nations people hold an annual Pow Wow that is attended by visitors from all over the world. It is a great attraction.
Panmure Island is also a great place to stay while on PEI having great cottage rentals, a beautiful bed and breakfast and lots of real estate opportunities.
